Gaynor has been an inspiration to us all! She fought this horrendous disease with a strength that I never knew existed but still always considered everyone but herself. Sadly, Gaynor passed away on Wednesday evening after a typically courageous fight.
Laura was a fantastic friend, wife and mother. She will always be remembered with love.
Samantha was a young, vibrant, chatty, fun loving and energetic person. She filled the room with joy and was always making people laugh. She loved going out, spending time with her family and friends, she had such zest and enthusiasm for life.
I lost my nan to ovarian cancer whilst I was still young, I remember many happy times with her as I was growing up! I would like to raise some money and also try and bring this cancer to the attention of people as many are still unaware of its existence and consequences.
My friend Fros and I (in the attached picture) have decided to do the 5km run in honour of those close to us who have passed away. We are planning to run the whole 5km and have started to train for it now.
This page is dedicated to Tracey Perella who was a loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunty and Friend. Tracey had battled with ovarian cancer for five years and passed away on 30th April 2010. She will be remembered always for her immense bravery and indomnitable spirit.
I am running the marathon for the second time in Linda's memory (my Aunt) after successful fundraising last time. We want to contribute to the amazing work that Warren, her partner (and driver etc!) has successfully achieved and continues to do so. All money raised will go to the Linda Smith memorial fund.
Doreen was my mum, and Joan my cousin, both died from ovarian cancer.
Dorothy, born on 29 January 1941, was known to her children and grandchildren as Dodie. She fought a formidable battle against ovarian cancer for five and a half years.
Linda Smith (1958–2006), comedian, was born on 29 January 1958 in Erith, Kent. She found Erith uninspiring, later describing it as ‘not exactly a city that never sleeps, more a town that lies awake all night staring at the ceiling’.
Sarah was my sister, and is greatly missed by me, her brothers and her many nephews and nieces, as well as her wide circle of friends. She died in September 2005, six weeks after our mother, who also died of ovarian cancer.
